California king Lear -- Sympathetic Characters

A sympathetic character, can be described as character that the writer expects the reader (in this case watcher) to identify with and value. In Shakespeare's play King Lear, the characters Gloucester and Ruler Lear both start out not being liked by someone because they come off while mean and cold. At the conclusion of the enjoy, the reader does sympathize to get both of these heroes because of the way they have been tricked by their children. Both California king Lear and Gloucester turn out to be prime instances of a sympathetic character at the conclusion of the play.
